GUIDELINE FOR APPLICANTS

The internet isn’t new to you. Do you immediately think of the World Wide Web when you hear the word surf? Then we are your next destination along your career path. We’re looking forward to receiving your application!

By writing an excellent application, you’ll also make an excellent impression! If your documents tick all the boxes and you impress us with them, we will certainly be meeting you in person soon. Here’s your application checklist.

This is what makes an application complete:

COVERING LETTER

Facts that are interesting for us:

  • Which position are you applying for?
  • Why are you interested in this job?
  • Why are you the most suited to this position?
  • Why would you like to work for Picanova?

HERE’S HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:

You want your application to stand out? Then have faith in yourself and be creative – in terms of both content and graphics. With us, you don’t need to stick to strict guidelines! In addition to your covering letter, you can also send us a presentation or even a video. Show us why you’re the right person for this job.

TABULAR CV

This is just for formality:

  • Give us complete details of all your professional activities, large assignments and successes.
  • Start in descending order with your current professional situation
  • You also need to state your most important assignments and function, and not simply “work
    placement with…”
  • Tell us about your success in each of your professional capacities

HERE’S HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:

We can only judge whether you’re the best fit for the role if you fill out your CV with your positions held, skills and successes. Of course, your CV shouldn’t extend over four pages. Concentrate on the essentials when formatting your CV. So ask yourself the question as to what your future employer needs to know about you. Note: Not the quantity is important, but your previous actions and roles are relevant for the applied position. Also feel free to tell us about your hobbies and interests.

CERTIFICATES AND OTHER FORMS OF EVIDENCE OF ACHIEVEMENT

This is important to us:

  • Enclose your qualification in reverse chronological order
  • Enclose your certificates that qualify you for this occupation (e.g Bachelor’s degree).
  • You can also apply with your certificates gained on completion of high school or comparable education.
  • Relevant further education and certificates, if available
  • For graphic designers and creative folk: compile a portfolio of your best works.

HERE’S HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:

We don’t need certificates for every job you did during your school holidays. However, we do need all employer references and certificates that qualify you for the job. If you apply for a position as a graphic designer, then you can impress us with a representative sample of your skillful works.

To finish off your application:

  • We’d really appreciate a photo of yourself, but it’s not compulsory.
  • Please only provide other references and enclosed documents if they are relevant to the
    advertised position.

HERE’S HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:

Are you a first-aider or coach in youth football? Great! Then we’d love to see it in your CV. However, we don’t need written confirmation in the documents for references of this type. This way, we can process your application faster.

APPLICATION PROCESS

HERE’S THE PROCEDURE IN OUR APPLICATION PROCESS:

  1. You send us your complete application documents (i.e personal statement, CV and all
    relevant certificates) – you can use our form to do this.
  2. We’ll email you confirmation of receipt.
  3. We thoroughly examine your documents and get back to you in due course.
  4. If you convince us with your application, we will invite you to an interview.

INTERVIEW

On your part:

  • We will invite you to an interview in our headquarters in Cologne.
  • If you live a considerable distance away, we will give you the option of a telephone
    interview.
  • You don’t need a business look, a neat appearance is sufficient.
  • We’ll ask you not just “classic” interview questions, but want to get to know you: in terms of both you as a person and your specialist knowledge.
  • The purpose of the interview is an exchange in terms of personality and expertise.
  • On a mutual basis, you will tell us things about yourself and we’ll introduce you to our
    business.
  • After the interview, we will get in touch with you in due course and advise you of our
    decision.

HERE’S HOW TO INCREASE YOUR CHANCES:

Stay relaxed. We would like to bridge the initial distance between you and us as quickly as possible and get to the very important part: to you! Take advantage of the friendly atmosphere and simply tell us about yourself and your successes. Show us that you’re the best fit for the job. Also, feel free to prepare a presentation. Impress us with your motivation and personality!
